ViniYoga

Developed by Krishnamacharya and his son, T. K. V. Deskichar, this gentle form of flow yoga places great emphasis on co-ordinating breath with movement. ViniYoga’s flowing vinyasa movement is similar to Ashtanga’s dynamic series of asanas, but is performed at a much slower pace. ViniYoga places less stress on joints and knees as a result of postures done with slightly bent knees. This style of yoga is considered excellent for beginners and is increasingly being used in therapeutic environments. ViniYoga is designed to be unique to each individual practitioner and is considered a therapeutic yoga. It is ideally taught in private yoga sessions.
