Sahaja Yoga

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of Sahaja yoga, and her family are direct descendants of the royal Shalivahana Dynasty. She lived with her parents on Mahatma Gandhi’s ashram and became a freedom fighter at a young age before, in 1970, founding Sahaja yoga as a self-realisation meditation practice that would help people connect to their inner beings and aid the process of spiritual ascent. The meditation technique is easy to learn and aids in the reduction of stress, leading to the enhancement of a person’s psychological wellbeing and improving their sense of balance, confidence and self-control.
